A Midsummer Reflection

Last night we witnessed a total lunar eclipse, and with the arrival of a new moon, it felt like the perfect excuse to pause for a moment.
Summer often rushes by in a blur. One booking becomes another, days merge into weeks, and before you know it you're wondering where July disappeared to.
And as I sat with my morning coffee today, I realised just how much there is to be grateful for.
This year we've watched our campervans head off in every direction imaginable.
Some guests have escaped to festivals. Others have taken the dog for long weekends on the coast.
We've seen grandparents introducing grandchildren to campervan life for the very first time, couples celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, and families squeezing every last drop out of the school holidays.
Every booking has its own story.

For me, summer is always my favourite time of year, but it's also the busiest. Days become filled with answering emails, washing bedding, writing little welcome notes and preparing each campervan for its next adventure.
It's so easy to become caught up in the endless to-do list.
Then something happens that reminds me why I love doing this.
A photo arrives of a morning coffee overlooking the sea.
A message lands saying they've found the perfect hidden campsite.
A page in the guestbook makes me smile.
Or I watch someone open the campervan door for the very first time and hear those magic words..."Wow."

That moment never gets old.
I love hearing where everyone is heading, whether it's Scotland, Cornwall or simply somewhere they've never been before. I love recommending places, sharing little tips, and knowing that, for a few days at least, we've helped someone slow down and make memories together.
Looking back over the past few months, I don't just feel proud of the business we've built - I feel incredibly grateful.
I am grateful for every family who has trusted us with their holiday.
For every returning customer.
And for every recommendation, every kind message, every photograph you've shared, and every story you've allowed us to be a tiny part of.
It really does mean more than you probably realise.

I've recently found myself becoming more interested in the rhythms of nature. The changing seasons, the quieter evenings beginning to creep in, and even the phases of the moon are encouraging me to slow down a little more. Last night's lunar eclipse felt like a lovely reminder to pause, appreciate and reflect on just how much this little business has experienced over the past few months.
So, wherever you've travelled this year, thank you for taking us along for the ride.
Here's to the rest of summer...
...and everything autumn has waiting around the corner.
See you around the Campfire,
Lucy x
