At Up Sticks, our campervans are more than just vehicles - they’re mobile sanctuaries. We’ve partnered with Retrofitted Campervans (based in Bury St Edmunds) to bring designs that combine elegance, practicality, and comfort. Here's the story behind those interiors.

The Philosophy
Retrofitted was born from a group of friends with van life dreams, who combined skills in woodworking, design, and engineering. Their guiding principle: function + form. They believe the inside of a van should feel like a boutique hotel, but with ruggedness for off-grid adventures.
Materials & Craftsmanship
Locally sourced, sustainable timber
Hard-wearing but beautiful finishes
Custom cabinetry
Multi-functional furniture (beds, storage, seating)
Clever lighting solutions (ambient, task lighting)
Insulation, airflow & climate control

Luxury Meets Practicality
When designing each build, we (Up Sticks) and Retrofitted ask: “What will people really use?” Then we tailor. The result: boutique touches (soft lighting, quality fabrics) paired with rugged basics (easy-clean surfaces, durable hardware).
How It Enhances Your Trip
You get the comfort of home on the road
Easy to clean & maintain
Everything has a place: clutter is minimised
It is build to a high standard

Sneak Peek into a Build Process

Conclusion
We believe a great campervan journey starts inside the van. That’s why we chose Retrofitted - they speak our language of balance, beauty, and travel. When you step into one of our vans, we want you to feel home, no matter where you are. A Look Behind the Interiors
